Trend report – Olympic Fashion…

It is quite possibly the most fortunate of scenarios when one of the current season’s trends seamlessly blends high fashion with comfort (the reason why I have pyjama pants positively breeding in my wardrobe) but a trend that also kids onlookers into thinking you’re some sort of dynamic gym bunny? Even better.

Cue my love-in for the ‘Sports Luxe’ movement of the moment (fear not, we’re not talking spandex a la Mr Motivator).

Alexander Wang used retro geometric shapes and sweatshirts to add athleticism to his designs for S/S 12, whereas Kenzo went all out in chic shell-suits (who’d have thought that was a possibility?) Taking a more high-class country approach, Lacoste showed rugby-shirt dresses while Versus created the same, but in a football style.

This trend can be channelled with either an all encompassing approach, or simply a little flirt, check out the gallery above for some High Street inspiration.
