Ming Pin Tien S/S 13

Ming Pin Tien kicked off proceedings, and for this young designer, baby got back. Simple designs became intriguing as models turned around, dropped hems and leather armoury attracting the eye.

Ones to Watch SS13 Charlotte Simpson, LFW, London Fashion Week

Charlotte Simpson S/S 13

Supplying an all more elegant collection was Charlotte Simpson, whose clean lines and powder-puff hues had a touch of 3.1 Phillip Lim to them. With delicate embroidery and glistening embellishments, plus some seriously deep V necklines sophisticated sex appeal was obtained.

Ones to Watch SS13 Hana Cha, LFW, London Fashion Week

Hana Cha S/S 13

Third was Hana Cha, whose striking monochrome show remained both androgynous and elegant. Loose garments were decorated with stringy fringing which draped off models and swung as they walked (the sort of pieces I’d like to shake, shake, shake in – if anyone’s seen me in my Topshop fringy leggings, they’ll know what I’m talking about).

Hellen van Rees S/S 13

Hellen van Rees was last out from behind the curtain, her sustainable and hand-crafted tweed more than a little reminiscent of classic Chanel attire. But such heritage was brought bang up to date as a new and indeed third dimension, by means of block sculptures protruding from sleeves, hems and even heads adorned designs.
